Sydney Swans chairman Andrew Pridham has offered his support to the Port Adelaide footy club for its handling of the racist abuse by one of the clubs supporters toward Crows star Eddie Betts on the weekend.
The Port supporter Alexandra Pelosi (pictured) was filmed throwing a banana at Betts after he kicked the last of his five goal haul in the win over the Power on Sunday.
Port have banned the woman indefinitely and invited her to attend cultural awareness programs and Pridham says he was heartened by the way the incident has been handled, in contrast to the inept handling of the abuse directed at Swans champion Adam Goodes last year.
