The Australian womens beach volleyball pair of Taliqua Clancy (pictured) and Louise Bawden have begun their Olympic campaign with a first up victory over Costa Rica.
Played in front of 5000 fans on Rio’s famous Copacabana beach, the seventh seeded Australian pair won the match in straight sets 21– 15 and 21-14.
24 year old Clancy,whos all ready made her mark on the tournament after becoming the first indigenous beach volleyballer to represent Australia at the Olympics says the duo are happy with the way they’ve begun the tournament and are now focused on their next assignment when they take on Venezuela.
