The Wallabies dream of emulating the Grand Slam achieved by the legendary 1984 side is over after the sides narrow loss to Ireland on Sunday morning.
The Australians were leading with 20 minutes to go after trailing 17 – 0 late in the first half with three second half tries bringing the Wallabies roaring back into the match.
In the end, a lack of composure cost the Australians but it was the penalty count, 13 – 3 in favour of the home side that left coach Michael Cheika (pictured) fuming after the match.
