The Australian Opals Olympic basketball campaign has come to an end after a torrid quarter final loss to Serbia in Rio.
The Opals ball security simply wasn’t good enough with 26 turnovers the difference as the Serbs scraped home in a nailbiter 73 – 71.
The result left a shattered skipper Penny Taylor (pictured) to reflect on an Olympic games that promised so much and yet failed to secure a semi final spot for the team that was expected to be gold medal contenders.
