The release of a $2.4 million Government review into the Northern Territory’s 43 Aboriginal town camps has been delayed because the final report is 16,000 pages long.
A spokeswoman for the Territory’s Housing Minister Gerry McCarthy says the Government is still working out how to best release the report which was initiated by the former CLP government last year.
The review was undertaken to examine a range of issues including land tenure, infrastructure, governance and administration and service delivery.
Last year more than 80 per cent of the Northern Territory community of Santa Teresa launched unprecedented legal action against the government over badly maintained public housing.
A date for the public release of the document has not yet been set.
