The New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council has welcomed the State Government’s announcement of a reparations package to compensate members of the stolen generation.
The Baird Government announced a $73 million reparations package following a 12-month inquiry carried out by the state in response to the 1997 Bringing Them Home Report.
Kamilaroi woman and Deputy Chair of the land council Anne Dennis represented the organisation in presenting evidence to the inquiry and says it’s a credit to the Government.
