New South Wales Origin coach Laurie Daley (pictured) says he will take his time before appointing a new Blues captain.
With veteran skipper Paul Gallen retiring from rep footy at the end of the 2016 series, the task falls on Daley and team management to find the right man to the lead the team against the dominant Maroons side.
Daley says with plenty of likely candidates within his squad, he expects the decision will become easier as the 2017 series draws closer.
