Anthony Mundine (pictured) has again attracted the ire of many after saying he won’t stand for the singing of Advance Australia Fair prior to his long waited return bout with Danny Green on Friday night.
The singing of the Australian Anthem has begun habitual at sporting events across the country in recent years but the Bundjalung man says he doesn’t believe the song, which celebrates the arrival of the English in Australia, represents First Nations people.
The remarks have predictably drawn criticism from white Australia but the three time world title holder and former NRL superstar says he stands by his remarks.
