A bemused Sam Mitchell (pictured) says it will take awhile to process the news that he is now a Brownlow medallist.
Mitchell and Richmonds Trent Cotchin finished second behind Jobe Watson in the 2012 medal vote and with Watson ruled ineligible retrospectively after the Bombers supplements scandal, the pair will now be crowned dual 2012 winners.
Greeted by the press camped on his doorstep early in the morning, Mitchell says he’s still digesting the news of what is a first for the AFL.
