Top Australian 400 metre runner Morgan Mitchell (pictured) will attempt to capitalise on her best season in athletics when she takes to the track at the Rio Olympics in her pet event and as a member of the 4 x 400m team.
She’s unbeaten in 2016 and her personal best time this year of 51.25 is the fastest by an Australian in 13 years.
She will of course be running in the footsteps of Australians greatest 400 metre runner Cathy Freeman, who’s been in close contact with Mitchell as she prepares for the biggest competition of her life.
