The NRL is in shock following the announcement that former Newcastle and New South Wales flyer James McManus is taking legal action against the Knights for its handling of his repeated concussions.
McManus’ career ended after he was heavily concussed in a round 20 match in 2015.
Speaking on Foxsports, former Wallaby Phil Waugh (pictured) says this could be a watershed moment for the NRL and its handling of head injuries.
