Kurtley Beale has made his long awaited return to the rugby field with a man of the match performance in Wasps 32 – 17 defeat of Connacht.
Playing at inside centre in the European Champions Cup match, Beale scored the first try of the match in the 8th minute after spending months out of the game after suffering a knee injury while playing for the Waratahs in Super Rugby in May.
Speaking in the sheds after the match, the 27 year old Darug Kamilaroi man (pictured) says while there were plenty of nerves prior to the match, he’s happy to have got his first game out of the way and he’s looking forward to the rest of the season.
