19 year old Australian Thon Maker’s selection by the Milwaukee Bucks at the NBA draft took many basketball fans by surprise but the Sudanese born refugee has already begun to show just why the Bucks took him with pick No. 10.

Playing in the NBA’s Summer League in Las Vegas, Maker (pictured)  has averaged 14 points per game and racked up consecutive double doubles to open the tournament.

Bucks coach and 10 time NBA All Star Jason Kidd says despite the criticism over Makers selection, the Bucks couldn’t be happier with their decision to pick up the young Australian.
