The Penrith Panthers have honoured former NRL star Glen Liddiard for his work off field for the club.

Liddiard was appointed by the club as the NRL’s first indigenous welfare officer in 2012 and in the years since, there has been a considerable increase in the amount of First Nations players at the proud club.

Liddiard (pictured) was named as the clubs Person of the Year as the teams award night and it was an emotional man who thanked those responsible for giving him the opportunity long after his playing career had come to an end.
