The CEO of a Central Coast Aboriginal Land Council has blasted the Wyong and Gosford Councils for their “ignorant and discriminatory” disregard for the economic contributions of the First Nation’s body.
The comments come in response to draft submissions by the councils to the NSW Central Coast Regional Plan, in which the Darkinjung Land Council is referred to only once on page 37.
Darkinjung is currently in the process of finalising several major projects, including several multi-million dollar developments.
Darkinjung Land Council CEO Sean Gordon says there is a fear of Aboriginal groups empowering themselves.
