The New South Wales State of Origin team have salvaged some pride from another disasterous Origin series by running out narrow 18 – 14 winners in Sydney on Wednesday night.
The result though is certain to ensure the animosity between the two sides remains when the 2017 series comes around with both sides exchanging barbs after the match.
The Blues side have been accused by no less than Maroons champion Johnathon Thurston (pictured) of disrespect towards Queensland and Australian captain Cameron Smith, after walking away from Smiths acceptance of the Origin trophy.
