AFL premiers Hawthorn sent a clear message to the other AFL clubs on Thursday night as they outmuscled, out tackled and out finessed the Port Adelaide side to record a 22 point win at the Adelaide Oval.
The Hawks went into the contest knowing they’d lost three of their previous four encounters with the Power and it’s the clubs intense physicality at the contest that was the difference in the end as they ran away with the match in the third quarter.
Superstar Cyril Rioli (pictured) who starred with three goals, said the Hawks were determined to start the match quickly after being jumped by Port in the past and it paid off as the Hawks ran away with the match in the second half.
