The Greens are fighting to retain a statutory requirement for an independent review of the Northern Territory’s Stronger Futures Act.
A bill introduced to parliament would remove the need for a review, which would have been due in June 2016.
The government says the review is unnecessary because a “formal revision” was conducted in 2014 and 2015.
Greens Senator for Western Australia Rachel Siewert says they will move an amendment to exclude the provision that gets rid of the review.
