Western Australia has created cycling’s first Indigenous Talent Identification and Development squad.
Australia is considered one of world cyclings global powerhouses yet indigenous participation in the sport is extremely low.
The squad currently has eight First Nations boys and girls training and if the enthusiasm shown by ten year old Lamarna Valentine (pictured) is anything to go by, it shouldn’t be long before we see the an indigenous cyclist representing Australia at the Olympics.
