The Fijian Rugby Sevens squad for the Rio Olympics has been finalised ahead of the inaugural Olympic Sevens competition.
Eyebrows were raised following coach Ben Ryans decision to exclude Jarryd Hayne (pictured) from the Fijian squad, after the former NRL star and NFL convert’s fitness was found not up to the standard required.
Ryan says he’s put his side through an intensive physical preparation to ensure the Fijian team is in the best possible shape for what would be an historic occasion for Fijian rugby.
