The Prime Minister Malcom Turnbull has said he will ask the Governor-General to dissolve both Houses of Parliament for an election on July 2.
An election was imminent following ultimatum given to the senate to vote in favour of reinstating the Australian Building and Construction Commission or Mr Turnbull would call a double dissolution election.
The Senate voted against the reinstatement.
One of the founders of the Aboriginal Tent Embassy in Canberra and Euahlayi man Ghillar Michael Anderson says both parties are useless.
