20 year old First Nations flyer Bevan French has managed to make a real name for himself in his debut year in the NRL, despite the on and off field challenges facing his club Parramatta.
French first had fans sitting up and taking notice after lighting up the Auckland Nines in February but wasn’t expected to play NRL in his first season at the Eels.
Normally a fullback, French got his chance to fill a vacancy on the Eels wing and his blistering pace has seen him cross for nine tries in just six games and while he feels his best position is still at fullback, he’s enjoying the opportunity to play at the end of the Parramatta backline.
