The Parramatta Eels expect to be under the salary cap for Friday nights Indigenous Round clash with Souths after brokering a deal to send hooker Nathan Peats (pictured) to the Titans.
The club were informed by the NRL that it would need to jettison a player before Friday nights game or face further sanctions over its rorting of the cap.
Eels coach Brad Arthur says while it was the correct course to let the former Indigenous All Star go, it was a hard decision to have to make, regardless of the need to get under the cap.
