Australian captain Steve Smith was given a life when he needed it most on the opening day of the Test Series against Pakistan at the Gabba.
Smith was struggling to bring up his century while stuck in the nervous 90’s when he got an edge to a delivery from Mohammad Amir but none of the visitors asked the question leaving a sheepish Smith to bring up his century shortly after.
Pakistan batsman Azhar Ali (pictured) says the team was shocked to discover that Smith had admitted to edging the ball in the dressing room later that evening.
