Laurie Daley (pictured) has called for an end to the increasing scrutiny being placed on the private lives of NRL footballers.
Speaking specifically about Parramatta star Kieran Foran but in comments that have relevancy to all players in the high pressure world of professional sport, Daley says the speculation about Foran, who has this week been stripped of the Eels captaincy for failing to adhere to club standards, needs to end.
The New South Wales coach says he’s concerned that the undue pressure being brought on players could end in a tragedy from which the game would struggle to recover.
