Sydney Swans coach John Longmire believes 21 year old Kenyan born defender Aliir Aliir (pictured) has done the hard yards and is more than ready to make his AFL debut.
Aliir comes into the Swans side for veteran backman Ted Richards who suffered a fractured cheekbone in the Swans defeat of the Eagles last weekend.
Aliir only took up the game after moving to Australia as a seven year old and believes, despite the long road to the AFL, he’s displayed the consistency the coach wanted to see from him while learning the game from the inside out.
