Hawthorn coach Alistair Clarkson (pictured) says the departure to other clubs by a number of premiership stars is just the reality of professional sport.

Despite the clubs desire to retain Jordan Lewis, the 2016 Hawks vice captain has announced that he has signed a three year deal with the Demons and will depart the premiers with a year remaining on his contract.

After missing a spot in the 2016 decider, the Hawks are in somewhat of a rebuilding phase  and Clarkson says player movement has happened in the past and will no doubt continue in the future.
