Indigenous All Star and New South Wales representative Lavinia O’Mealey believes it’s time for the establishment of a professional rugby league competition in Australia.
O’Mealey is a member of the Redfern All Blacks Womens team that claimed the minor premiership in the NSW Womens completion on the weekend by defeating Mounties 72 – 18.
With other sports already having established professional playing opportunities for women, O’Mealey (pictured) says it would be a dream come true to be paid to play rugby league.
