The AFL’s controversial late season bye has delivered one of the most exciting finals series in many years and that promises to continue tomorrow afternoon when the Swans and Bulldogs go head to head for the 2016 AFL premiership.

The decision to institute the week off between Round 23 and the first week of the finals series has been panned by many  but all clubs have shown the benefit of the extra time to prepare for the finals.

NIRS Footys Chris Johnson says with the quality of games so far, and with Saturdays Grand Final shaping as one of the all time great clashes, the bye is here to stay.
