The debut performance of Javid Bowen (pictured) was one of the highlights of the Cowboys 36 – 0 dismantling of St George on Saturday night.
Coming into the side after the withdrawal of Kane Linnett with a shoulder injury, Bowen scored a try and his combination with Antonio Winterstein on the Cowboys left edge saw Winterstein have his best game in Cowboys colours.
Being the nephew of Cowboys legend Matt Bowen meant there was plenty of pressure on 23 year old Javid going into the match but skipper Johnathon Thurston says the young centre responded in the best possible fashion.
