The Gold Coast Titans face losing former skipper Greg Bird (pictured) to suspension following the clubs heartbreaking loss to Cronulla on Sunday.
The Titans lead 18 – 14 midway through the second half after trailing by 14 points before a late field goal and try to Sharks winger Valentine Holmes secured the Sharks 25 – 20 victory.
Bird played like a one man wrecking ball against his old club with tackles on James Maloney and Ben Barba earning the ire of Cronulla supporters and it was confirmed on Monday morning that Bird has been charged with a grade two reckless high tackle, although coach Neil Henry said after the match that he didn’t believe there was much in the Bird tackle.
