Fremantle recruit Harley Bennell (pictured) is expected to miss at least the first round of the AFL season after straining a calf muscle during an encouraging display for the Peel Thunder in the WAFL on Saturday night.
Bennell was a standout in the match, gathering 23 disposals and booting four goals before succumbing to the troublesome calf complaint.
Coach Ross Lyon says while is not the greatest way to begin the season, he’s confident this latest setback for the Noongar star will be only temporary.
