The Cronulla Sharks have released premiership hero Ben Barba (private) from his contract following the news that Barba has recorded a positive drug test for cocaine use.
Barba is believed to be on his way to a private treatment clinic following the news of the positive result that came in the days following the Sharks inaugural premiership win.
Sharks CEO Lyall Gorman confirmed that he was aware the positive test is the second recorded by Barba and that the club will continue to work with him as he seeks to resolve a number of personal issues.
