Australian chef de mission Kitty Chiller says Australian Olympians have the freedom to express themselves as they see fit.
The comments come as Australian 400 metre swimming gold medallist Mack Horton continues to be the subject of online attacks following his dismissal of chinese rival Sun Yang as a drug cheat.
Chiller says, in a remarkable turnaround from previous Olympics, that Australian Olympians are encouraged to express their views, no doubt leaving Cathy Freeman (pictured) and Damian Hooper wondering how times change.
