The AFL will celebrate sexual diversity and choice this weekend with Saturday nights clash between St Kilda and the Swans named the Pride game.
Its another step by the AFL as it seeks to break down the barriers created by a lack of understanding of the freedom of choice that needs to be embraced by the wider community.
Former St Kilda champion Nicky Winmar (pictured) has been a groundbreaker in leading the fight against racism in the game and this week he ventured back into the public spotlight to support the AFLs initiative.
