To Queensland, and the First Nation’s owners of the proposed Adani mine site have voted to sack representatives who received “sitting fees and other benefits” from the Indian mining company.

In a meeting in Brisbane over the weekend five members of the Wangan and Jagalingou native title claim group won support to remove four of the seven pro-mining representatives.

Queensland South Native Title Services confirmed that seven pro-mining applicants had received “monetary benefits” from Adani.

QSNTS expressed concern over the removal, stating that it has the right to take “appropriate action in response to any attempt to replace the applicant.”

The pro-conservation members say they are at a loss to understand why QSNTS would act in a way that supports the pro-mining bloc.
