AFL superstar Gary Ablett (pictured) says he has considered retiring from the game after his most recent bout of shoulder surgery.

Ablett had enjoyed an almost injury free run in the first decade of his career but after joining the Suns on a massive long term deal, has struggled in recent seasons with recurrent shoulder problems that have seen him fail to play out consecutive seasons.

Speculation has been rife that the Suns skipper has been considering ending his time in the game and he has now given the first real indication that that moment is drawing closer.
