The Gold Coast Suns say they are completely confident that skipper Gary Ablett is on board for 2017.
The club was rocked late in the 2016 season by news that the Brownlow Medallist had asked for a release in order to return to his home town of Geelong.
The club acted quickly to quash any possible move and coach Rodney Eade (pictured) says both the skipper and the club are focused on an improved showing in 2017.
