A Walgett resident says mob in communities need to shop sensibly and be aware of their power usage in order to significantly reduce their electricity bill.
The comment follows a study commissioned by the Dharriwa Elders Group in Walgett which monitored power usage in a number of houses, highlighting the effect appliances have on the wallet.
Kamilaroi woman Kim Sullivan says she shaved about $200 on her power bill which is typically more than $500.
She says it’s important for our mob to learn about power usage because people tend to prioritise their electricity bill over food.
