An expert in Native Title says that it’s unusual for the Government to rush through legislation, but there are examples of it happening in Aboriginal Affairs.

The comment comes following sharp criticism the Government received when pushing a bill to amend Native Title through Parliament within 24 hours of it being introduced.

The amendments are in response to a recent federal decision which blocked an Indigenous Land Use Agreement in West Australia, along with over 100 others across the country.

The Noongar agreement has been the subject of controversy aimed at the consultation and voting process.
