NITV has released a song which features hip hop artists from around Australia.
‘Change the Date’ features, Urthboy, Birdz, Thundamentals, L-Fresh the Lion and more, as part of NITV’s Always Will Be Festival, an array of programming and events on and in the lead up to January 26th.
The change the date campaign has gained traction in recent times following the City of Freemantle’s controversial decision to move their Australia Day festivities to January 28th.
A Yuin man and the 2016 recipient of the Australia Council for the Arts’ Dreaming Award, Lyricist and Composer Nooky co-produced the song and features on the track.
He told NIRS that it was important to be inclusive of everyone when creating the song, in order to maximise its reach.
