A Murri activist says Aboriginal people don’t need a definition saying First Nations people have a responsibility to their nation to determine who is a part of it.
The comment follows those made by One Nation leader Pauline Hanson on the Bolt Report saying there isn’t an Aboriginal definition and that through marriage or by being accepted into the community makes someone Aboriginal.
Senator Hanson made the comments while arguing for changes to the Racial Discrimination Act.
Kooma man Wayne Wharton says each nation has the responsibility to accept or not accept people as being a part of their clan group and society.
