The founder of Black Rainbow plans to formalise the organisation into national peak body for suicide prevention among First Nations LGBTI people.

Black Rainbow is a Broome based suicide prevention service founded in 2013 by Mangarayi man Dameyon Bonson (pictured).

While the body will provide suicide prevention services to all First Nations people, the emphasis will be on the First Nations LGBTI community, who Mr Bonson says have zero representation as it currently stands.

He says the peak body will be the first of its kind in Australia.
