First Nation’s activist Noel Pearson has told ABC radio he wrote to the QLD Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs Minister warning him of growing violence in Cape York.
The comment comes after several youths attacked teaching staff and stole a car in the remote community Aurukun last week.
Mr Pearson says the problems stem from drug and alcohol abuse, school absenteeism and poor policing in remote QLD communities.
