The Indigenous Affairs Minister says he will be looking into claims of mistreatment at the Royal Darwin Hospital which left Gumatj singer Gurrumul Yunipingu with internal bleeding for eight hours.

Mr Yunupingu’s manager Mark Grose escorted him in an ambulance to the hospital on Easter Sunday following liver complications.

Mr Grose claims that Mr Yunupingu was left in the rapid assessment for up to eight hours and suspects the he was disregarded as an alcoholic.

Minister Scullion is expecting a report on the incident.
