A new program in Western Australia has been established to identify the next generation of First Nation’s athletes.
The Indigenous Talent Identification and Development Squad wants to get a First Nation’s athlete representing Australia in cycling at an Olympic level.
The squad was set up by Amanda O’Connor, who says there has never been an Indigenous cycling program before.
Ten year old cyclist Lemarna Valentine is part of the program and hopes to reach Olympic level.
