The Chair of Uphold and Recognise says it’s both sad and disappointing that 30 years on from former Prime Minister Paul Keating’s Redfern Speech, First Nations people are still not recognised in the constitution.
The 30th anniversary of Keating’s significant speech which recognised wrongs committed against First Nations people, will be marked on Sunday.
Barkindji man, Sean Gordon told the ABC that the former Prime Minister’s words that day are as relevant as ever, as the current government heads towards a referendum on an Indigenous voice to Parliament.
