Yawuru man Pat Dodson has been back by Labor leader Bill Shorten to replace outgoing senator Joe Bullock.
Senator Bullock announced last night in the senate that he will be stepping down due to the party voting to outlaw a conscience vote on same sex marriage.
Mr Shorten says Mr Dodson will be more than just a Labor Senator.
