The Lead Convener of the Coalition of Peaks says all governments have been lagging on progress towards the priority reforms within the Closing the Gap campaign.
The new Closing the Gap targets were introduced in 2020 following a co-design process with state and territory governments and Aboriginal peak organisations.
Along with the new targets, four priority reforms were established to change the way the Government works with First Nations communities.
Gudanji/Arrernte woman Pat Turner says the priority reforms are there to reflect the community’s priorities and not the government’s.
