A Co-Chair of Reconciliation Australia says the rest of society needs to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to change racist attitudes and behaviours.
The comment comes following the first national reconciliation gathering of more than 20 years, held over the past three days, at the Australian Reconciliation Convention.
The event included a wide variety of speakers and panel discussions with local, national, and internal perspectives exploring the future of a reconciled country.
Kungarakan man and Co-Chair Professor Tom Calma spoke to NIRS about the convention and says mob have to be brave and take on the hard issues.
